The Guardian’s head of video, Charlie Phillips, and one of the programmers of Folkestone Documentary Festival will discuss what he thinks makes for a documentary that really connects with audiences, and how they can make a difference in the world.
With reference to the films showing at the festival, plus the short documentaries he’s commissioned for the Guardian’s online platform, he’ll talk about the creative and political importance of the genre, and will show the Guardian’s Oscar-winning short, Colette
